2013 in review
January 14, 2014
Okay, guys. So, after a lot of postponing, should-I‘s and other insecurities regarding the birth and possible future of this blog, here I am, feeding my need to write, from random nonsensical personal stuff, to, hopefully, interesting things that might actually help somebody one day (or at least shed them a tear or a smile). Yes, it’s my 4th or 5th time I start a blog – I lost count a little bit – and this time I’m doing it differently.
First of all, I am not going to promise to anyone – not even myself – that I’ll write constantly. Nope. I will do it just when I feel like. So if someday you will wake up and feel the urge to read my blog while savoring your warm coffee, you might find yourself obliged to re-read old posts – just because I wasn’t in the mood to write for more than a few days or weeks in a row. And just so you know, I won’t even feel bad about it.
Second of all, this time my blog won’t be about photography, nor travelling, nor personal stuff, nor books, nor anything else that crosses your mind. Nope. It’s going to be about all of these and much more, all intertwined together. It’s going to be a mix about what I feel like sharing at a given moment. I am, though, open to suggestions, so if you think you have something to learn from me, do share your ideas for articles.
That being said, for those of you that see this page for the very first time and have no freaking idea who am I: I am a young photographer and future architect from Romania. I’m a woman so I don’t like sharing my age – but it’s still not that hard to guess it as I haven’t graduated yet from university. My name is obvious, but do feel free to call me Deea.
And now, on to the subject of this article – 2013 in review. Every year I like looking back at what have I achieved over the past year – mostly to make me feel good about myself and become more confident of the upcoming year. Also, every year I make plans for the next one – 90% of them never come to life (and sometimes that’s a good thing!).
Anyway. 2013 treat me better than I have wished or hoped for. Photographically speaking, I met some amazing and incredibly talented and beautiful new people with whom I had the chance to collaborate and I am more than grateful for that and hope that the next year will bring us together again. I also had the chance to visit a few new great places – you’ll see that I LOVE travelling – and learn new things – like a new language (hehe). The only regret is that I didn’t do more of everything – more photoshootings, more travelling, more learning. And this is my only wish for 2014 – try as hard as I can to make the best out of everything. And right now this year looks promising – had a good start already.
But more of that for the upcoming articles or else I won’t have what to write again for another year. In the meanwhile, I’m curious about your 2014 hopes and dreams. It’s 14th of January, you had enough time to polish them by now, so share away (you know that if you share them with somebody they are more likely to become real). ^_^
P.S. Again, a big hug and tons of thank you’s to all of the people who helped me grow in 2013. ^_^
